The Battle Between Flesh and Spirit

There is a battle that the believer did not choose to fight, but from which he cannot escape. Paul, in writing to the Galatians, does not describe a philosophical theory about human nature, but a concrete and daily experience of one who has already been born again and yet feels within himself two contrary directions pulling toward opposite sides.
