Psalms 99
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1O SENHOR reina, tremam as nações; [ele é] o que se senta [entre] os querubins, mova-se a terra.
יְהוָ֣ה מָ֭לָךְ יִרְגְּז֣וּ עַמִּ֑ים יֹשֵׁ֥ב כְּ֝רוּבִ֗ים תָּנ֥וּט הָאָֽרֶץ׃
Yahweh malach yirgzu amim yoshev keruvim tanut haarets
2O SENHOR é grande em Sião; ele é mais elevado que todos os povos.
יְ֭הוָה בְּצִיּ֣וֹן גָּד֑וֹל וְרָ֥ם ה֝֗וּא עַל־כָּל־הָֽעַמִּֽים׃
Yahweh betsion gadol veram hu al-kal-haamim
3Louvem o teu grande e temível nome, [porque] ele é santo;
יוֹד֣וּ שִׁ֭מְךָ גָּד֥וֹל וְנוֹרָ֗א קָד֥וֹשׁ הֽוּא׃
yodu shimcha gadol venora kadosh hu
4Assim como também a fortaleza do Rei, que ama o juízo; tu firmaste as coisas corretas; tu fizeste juízo e justiça em Jacó.
וְעֹ֥ז מֶלֶךְ֮ מִשְׁפָּ֪ט אָ֫הֵ֥ב אַ֭תָּה כּוֹנַ֣נְתָּ מֵישָׁרִ֑ים מִשְׁפָּ֥ט וּ֝צְדָקָ֗ה בְּיַעֲקֹ֤ב ׀ אַתָּ֬ה עָשִֽׂיתָ׃
veoz melech mishpat ahev atah konanta mesharim mishpat utsdakah beyaakov atah asita
5Exaltai ao SENHOR nosso Deus, e prostrai-vos perante o suporte dos seus pés, [porque] ele é santo.
רֽוֹמְמ֡וּ יְה֘וָ֤ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ וְֽ֭הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לַהֲדֹ֥ם רַגְלָ֗יו קָד֥וֹשׁ הֽוּא׃
rommu Yahweh elohenu vehishtachavu lahadom raglayv kadosh hu
6Moisés e Arão estavam entre seus sacerdotes, e Samuel entre os que chamavam o seu nome; eles clamavam ao SENHOR, e ele os respondia.
מֹ֘שֶׁ֤ה וְאַהֲרֹ֨ן ׀ בְּֽכֹהֲנָ֗יו וּ֭שְׁמוּאֵל בְּקֹרְאֵ֣י שְׁמ֑וֹ קֹרִ֥אים אֶל־יְ֝הוָ֗ה וְה֣וּא יַעֲנֵֽם׃
mosheh veaharon bechohanayv ushmuel bekore shemo koriym el-Yahweh vehu yaanem
7Na coluna da nuvem ele lhes falava; eles guardavam seus testemunhos e os estatutos que ele tinha lhes dado.
בְּעַמּ֣וּד עָ֭נָן יְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֑ם שָׁמְר֥וּ עֵ֝דֹתָ֗יו וְחֹ֣ק נָֽתַן־לָֽמוֹ׃
beamud anan yedaber alehem shamru edotayv vechok natan-lamo
8Ó SENHOR nosso Deus, tu os respondia; tu lhes foste Deus perdoador, ainda que vingasse as coisas que eles praticavam.
יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵינוּ֮ אַתָּ֪ה עֲנִ֫יתָ֥ם אֵ֣ל נֹ֭שֵׂא הָיִ֣יתָ לָהֶ֑ם וְ֝נֹקֵ֗ם עַל־עֲלִילוֹתָֽם׃
Yahweh elohenu atah anitam el nose hayita lahem venokem al-alilotam
9Exaltai ao SENHOR nosso Deus, e prostrai-vos perante seu santo monte; pois santo é o SENHOR nosso Deus.
רֽוֹמְמ֡וּ יְה֘וָ֤ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ וְ֭הִֽשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְהַ֣ר קָדְשׁ֑וֹ כִּֽי־קָ֝ד֗וֹשׁ יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
