Psalms 97
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1O SENHOR reina; que a terra se encha de alegria; alegrem-se as muitas ilhas.
יְהוָ֣ה מָ֭לָךְ תָּגֵ֣ל הָאָ֑רֶץ יִ֝שְׂמְח֗וּ אִיִּ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃
Yahweh malach tagel haarets yismchu iyim rabim
2Nuvens e escuridão há ao redor dele; justiça e juízo são a base de seu trono.
עָנָ֣ן וַעֲרָפֶ֣ל סְבִיבָ֑יו צֶ֥דֶק וּ֝מִשְׁפָּ֗ט מְכ֣וֹן כִּסְאֽוֹ׃
anan vaarafel sevivayv tsedek umishpat mechon kiso
3Fogo vai adiante dele, que inflama seus adversários ao redor.
אֵ֭שׁ לְפָנָ֣יו תֵּלֵ֑ךְ וּתְלַהֵ֖ט סָבִ֣יב צָרָֽיו׃
esh lefanayv telech utlahet saviv tsarayv
4Seus relâmpagos iluminam o mundo; a terra os vê, e treme.
הֵאִ֣ירוּ בְרָקָ֣יו תֵּבֵ֑ל רָאֲתָ֖ה וַתָּחֵ֣ל הָאָֽרֶץ׃
heiru verakayv tevel raatah vatachel haarets
5Os montes se derretem como cera na presença do SENHOR, na presença do Senhor de toda a terra.
הָרִ֗ים כַּדּוֹנַ֗ג נָ֭מַסּוּ מִלִּפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה מִ֝לִּפְנֵ֗י אֲד֣וֹן כָּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
harim kadonag namasu milifne Yahweh milifne adon kal-haarets
6Os céus anunciam sua justiça, e todos os povos veem sua glória.
הִגִּ֣ידוּ הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם צִדְק֑וֹ וְרָא֖וּ כָל־הָעַמִּ֣ים כְּבוֹדֽוֹ׃
higidu hashamayim tsidko verau chal-haamim kevodo
7Sejam envergonhados todos os que servem a imagens, e os que se orgulham de ídolos; prostrai-vos diante dele todos os deuses.
יֵבֹ֤שׁוּ ׀ כָּל־עֹ֬בְדֵי פֶ֗סֶל הַמִּֽתְהַלְלִ֥ים בָּאֱלִילִ֑ים הִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־ל֝וֹ כָּל־אֱלֹהִֽים׃
yevoshu kal-ovde fesel hamithallim baelilim hishtachavu-lo kal-elohim
8Sião ouviu, e se alegrou; e as filhas de Judá tiveram muita alegria, por causa de teus juízos, SENHOR;
שָׁמְעָ֬ה וַתִּשְׂמַ֨ח ׀ צִיּ֗וֹן וַ֭תָּגֵלְנָה בְּנ֣וֹת יְהוּדָ֑ה לְמַ֖עַן מִשְׁפָּטֶ֣יךָ יְהוָֽה׃
shamah vatismach tsion vatagelnah benot yehudah lemaan mishpatecha Yahweh
9Pois tu, SENHOR, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra; tu és muito mais elevado que todos os deuses.
כִּֽי־אַתָּ֤ה יְהוָ֗ה עֶלְי֥וֹן עַל־כָּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ מְאֹ֥ד נַ֝עֲלֵ֗יתָ עַל־כָּל־אֱלֹהִֽים׃
ki-atah Yahweh elyon al-kal-haarets meod naaleta al-kal-elohim
10Vós que amais ao SENHOR: odiai o mal; ele guarda a alma de seus santos, [e] os resgata da mão dos perversos.
אֹהֲבֵ֥י יְהוָ֗ה שִׂנְא֫וּ רָ֥ע שֹׁ֭מֵר נַפְשׁ֣וֹת חֲסִידָ֑יו מִיַּ֥ד רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים יַצִּילֵֽם׃
ohave Yahweh sinu ra shomer nafshot chasidayv miyad reshaim yatsilem
11A luz é semeada para o justo, e a alegria para os corretos de coração.
א֭וֹר זָרֻ֣עַ לַצַּדִּ֑יק וּֽלְיִשְׁרֵי־לֵ֥ב שִׂמְחָֽה׃
or zarua latsadik ulyishre-lev simchah
12Vós justos, alegrai-vos no SENHOR; e agradecei em memória de sua santidade.
שִׂמְח֣וּ צַ֭דִּיקִים בַּֽיהוָ֑ה וְ֝הוֹד֗וּ לְזֵ֣כֶר קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃
