Psalms 148
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Aleluia! Louvai ao SENHOR desde os céus; louvai-o nas alturas.
הַ֥לְלוּ יָ֨הּ ׀ הַֽלְל֣וּ אֶת־יְ֭הוָה מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֑יִם הַֽ֝לְל֗וּהוּ בַּמְּרוֹמִֽים׃
hallu yah hallu et-Yahweh min-hashamayim halluhu bamromim
2Louvai-o todos os seus anjos; louvai-o todos os seus exércitos.
הַֽלְל֥וּהוּ כָל־מַלְאָכָ֑יו הַֽ֝לְל֗וּהוּ כָּל־צבאו ׃
halluhu chal-malachayv halluhu kal-tsvv
3Louvai-o, sol e lua; louvai-o, todas as estrelas luminosas.
הַֽ֭לְלוּהוּ שֶׁ֣מֶשׁ וְיָרֵ֑חַ הַ֝לְל֗וּהוּ כָּל־כּ֥וֹכְבֵי אֽוֹר׃

4Louvai-o, céus dos céus, e as águas que [estais] sobre os céus.
הַֽ֭לְלוּהוּ שְׁמֵ֣י הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וְ֝הַמַּ֗יִם אֲשֶׁ֤ר ׀ מֵעַ֬ל הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃
halluhu sheme hashamayim vehamayim asher meal hashamayim
5Louvem ao nome do SENHOR; porque pela ordem dele foram criados.
יְֽ֭הַֽלְלוּ אֶת־שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה כִּ֤י ה֭וּא צִוָּ֣ה וְנִבְרָֽאוּ׃
yehallu et-shem Yahweh ki hu tsiuah venivrau
6E os firmou para todo o sempre; e deu [tal] decreto, que não será traspassado.
וַיַּעֲמִידֵ֣ם לָעַ֣ד לְעוֹלָ֑ם חָק־נָ֝תַ֗ן וְלֹ֣א יַעֲבֽוֹר׃
vayaamidem laad leolam chak-natan velo yaavor
7Louvai ao SENHOR [vós] da terra: os monstros marinhos, e todos os abismos;
הַֽלְל֣וּ אֶת־יְ֭הוָה מִן־הָאָ֑רֶץ תַּ֝נִּינִ֗ים וְכָל־תְּהֹמֽוֹת ׃
hallu et-Yahweh min-haarets taninim vechal-tehomot
8O fogo e a saraiva, a neve e o vapor; o vento tempestuoso, que executa sua palavra.
אֵ֣שׁ וּ֭בָרָד שֶׁ֣לֶג וְקִיט֑וֹר ר֥וּחַ סְ֝עָרָ֗ה עֹשָׂ֥ה דְבָרֽוֹ׃
esh uvarad sheleg vekitor rucha searah osah devaro
9Os montes e todos os morros; árvores frutíferas, e todos os cedros.
הֶהָרִ֥ים וְכָל־גְּבָע֑וֹת עֵ֥ץ פְּ֝רִ֗י וְכָל־אֲרָזִֽים׃
heharim vechal-gevaot ets peri vechal-arazim
10As feras, e todo o gado; répteis, e aves que tem asas.
הַֽחַיָּ֥ה וְכָל־בְּהֵמָ֑ה רֶ֝֗מֶשׂ וְצִפּ֥וֹר כָּנָֽף׃
hachayah vechal-behemah remes vetsipor kanaf
11Os reis da terra, e todos os povos; os príncipes, e todos os juízes da terra.
מַלְכֵי־אֶ֭רֶץ וְכָל־לְאֻמִּ֑ים שָׂ֝רִ֗ים וְכָל־שֹׁ֥פְטֵי אָֽרֶץ׃
malche-erets vechal-leumim sarim vechal-shofte arets
12Os rapazes, e também as moças; os velhos com os jovens.
בַּחוּרִ֥ים וְגַם־בְּתוּל֑וֹת זְ֝קֵנִ֗ים עִם־נְעָרִֽים ׃
bachurim vegam-betulot zekenim im-nearim
13Louvem ao nome do SENHOR; pois só o nome dele é exaltado; sua majestade [está] sobre a terra e o céu.
יְהַלְל֤וּ ׀ אֶת־שֵׁ֬ם יְהוָ֗ה כִּֽי־נִשְׂגָּ֣ב שְׁמ֣וֹ לְבַדּ֑וֹ ה֝וֹד֗וֹ עַל־אֶ֥רֶץ וְשָׁמָֽיִם׃
yehallu et-shem Yahweh ki-nisgav shemo levado hodo al-erets veshamayim
14E ele exaltou o poder de seu povo: o louvor de todos os seus santos, os filhos de Israel, o povo [que está] perto dele. Aleluia!
וַיָּ֤רֶם קֶ֨רֶן ׀ לְעַמּ֡וֹ תְּהִלָּ֤ה לְֽכָל־חֲסִידָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֣י יִ֭שְׂרָאֵל עַֽם־קְרֹב֗וֹ הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃
