Psalms 13
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Salmo de Davi, para o regente: Até quando, SENHOR, te esquecerás de mim? Para sempre? Até quando tu esconderás de mim o teu rosto?

2Até quando refletirei em minha alma, [tendo] tristeza em meu coração o dia todo? Até quando o meu inimigo se levantará contra mim?

3Olha [para mim, e] ouve-me, SENHOR meu Deus; ilumina os meus olhos, para que eu não adormeça [na] morte.
