Psalms 125
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Os que confiam no SENHOR são como o monte de Sião, que não se abala, [e] permanece para sempre.
שִׁ֗יר הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת הַבֹּטְחִ֥ים בַּיהוָ֑ה כְּֽהַר־צִיּ֥וֹן לֹא־יִ֝מּ֗וֹט לְעוֹלָ֥ם יֵשֵֽׁב׃
shir hamaalot habotchim bayhvah kehar-tsion lo-yimot leolam yeshev
2Assim como montanhas estão ao redor de Jerusalém, assim também o SENHOR está ao redor de seu povo, desde agora para sempre.
יְֽרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם הָרִים֮ סָבִ֪יב לָ֥הּ וַ֭יהוָה סָבִ֣יב לְעַמּ֑וֹ מֵ֝עַתָּ֗ה וְעַד־עוֹלָֽם׃
yerushalim harim saviv lah vayhvah saviv leamo meatah vead-olam
3Porque o cetro da maldade não repousará sobre a sorte dos justos, para que os justos não estendam suas mãos à perversidade.
כִּ֤י לֹ֪א יָנ֡וּחַ שֵׁ֤בֶט הָרֶ֗שַׁע עַל֮ גּוֹרַ֪ל הַֽצַּדִּ֫יקִ֥ים לְמַ֡עַן לֹא־יִשְׁלְח֖וּ הַצַּדִּיקִ֨ים בְּעַוְלָ֬תָה יְדֵיהֶֽם׃
ki lo yanucha shevet haresha al goral hatsadikim lemaan lo-yishlchu hatsadikim beavlatah yedehem
4SENHOR, trata bem aos bons, e aos corretos em seus corações.
הֵיטִ֣יבָה יְ֭הוָה לַטּוֹבִ֑ים וְ֝לִֽישָׁרִ֗ים בְּלִבּוֹתָֽם׃
hetivah Yahweh latovim velisharim belibotam
5Mas aos que se dirigem a seus caminhos tortuosos, o SENHOR os mandará embora junto com os que praticam perversidade. Paz [seja] sobre Israel.
וְהַמַּטִּ֤ים עַֽקַלְקַלּוֹתָ֗ם יוֹלִיכֵ֣ם יְ֭הוָה אֶת־פֹּעֲלֵ֣י הָאָ֑וֶן שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
vehamatim akalkalotam yolichem Yahweh et-poale haaven shalom al-yisrael
