Psalms 11
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Salmo de Davi, para o regente: No SENHOR eu confio; como, pois, tu dizeis à minha alma: Fugi para vossa montanha, [como] um pássaro?
לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ לְדָ֫וִ֥ד בַּֽיהוָ֨ה ׀ חָסִ֗יתִי אֵ֭יךְ תֹּאמְר֣וּ לְנַפְשִׁ֑י נודו הַרְכֶ֥ם צִפּֽוֹר׃
lamnatsecha ledavid bayhvah chasiti ech tomru lenafshi nvdv harchem tsipor
2Porque eis que os maus estão armando o arco; eles estão pondo suas flechas na corda, para atirarem às escuras [com elas] aos corretos de coração.
כִּ֤י הִנֵּ֪ה הָרְשָׁעִ֡ים יִדְרְכ֬וּן קֶ֗שֶׁת כּוֹנְנ֣וּ חִצָּ֣ם עַל־יֶ֑תֶר לִיר֥וֹת בְּמוֹ־אֹ֝֗פֶל לְיִשְׁרֵי־לֵֽב׃
ki hineh harshaim yidrchun keshet konnu chitsam al-yeter lirot bemo-ofel leyishre-lev
3Se os fundamentos são destruídos, o que o justo pode fazer?
כִּ֣י הַ֭שָּׁתוֹת יֵֽהָרֵס֑וּן צַ֝דִּ֗יק מַה־פָּעָֽל׃
ki hashatot yeharesun tsadik mah-paal
4O SENHOR está em seu santo Templo, o trono do SENHOR está nos céus; seus olhos observam com atenção; suas pálpebras provam aos filhos dos homens.
יְהוָ֤ה ׀ בְּֽהֵ֘יכַ֤ל קָדְשׁ֗וֹ יְהוָה֮ בַּשָּׁמַ֪יִם כִּ֫סְא֥וֹ עֵינָ֥יו יֶחֱז֑וּ עַפְעַפָּ֥יו יִ֝בְחֲנ֗וּ בְּנֵ֣י אָדָֽם׃
Yahweh behechal kadsho Yahweh bashamayim kiso enayv yechezu afapayv yivchanu bene adam
5O SENHOR prova ao justo; mas sua alma odeia ao perverso e ao que ama a violência.
יְהוָה֮ צַדִּ֪יק יִ֫בְחָ֥ן וְ֭רָשָׁע וְאֹהֵ֣ב חָמָ֑ס שָֽׂנְאָ֥ה נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃
Yahweh tsadik yivchan verasha veohev chamas sanah nafsho
6Sobre os perversos choverá laços, fogo e enxofre; e o pagamento para seu cálice será vento tempestuoso.
יַמְטֵ֥ר עַל־רְשָׁעִ֗ים פַּ֫חִ֥ים אֵ֣שׁ וְ֭גָפְרִית וְר֥וּחַ זִלְעָפ֗וֹת מְנָ֣ת כּוֹסָֽם׃
yamter al-reshaim pachim esh vegafrit verucha zilafot menat kosam
7Porque o SENHOR [é] justo, [e] ama as justiças; seu rosto presta atenção ao [que é] correto.
כִּֽי־צַדִּ֣יק יְ֭הוָה צְדָק֣וֹת אָהֵ֑ב יָ֝שָׁ֗ר יֶחֱז֥וּ פָנֵֽימוֹ׃
