Psalms 117
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Louvai ao SENHOR, todas as nações; celebrai a ele, todos os povos.
הַֽלְל֣וּ אֶת־יְ֭הוָה כָּל־גּוֹיִ֑ם שַׁ֝בְּח֗וּהוּ כָּל־הָאֻמִּֽים ׃
hallu et-Yahweh kal-goyim shabchuhu kal-haumim
2Porque sua bondade prevaleceu sobre nós, e a fidelidade do SENHOR [dura] para sempre. Aleluia!
כִּ֥י גָ֘בַ֤ר עָלֵ֨ינוּ ׀ חַסְדּ֗וֹ וֶֽאֱמֶת־יְהוָ֥ה לְעוֹלָ֗ם הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃
ki gavar alenu chasdo veemet-Yahweh leolam hallu-yah
