Psalms 101
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Salmo de Davi: Cantarei sobre a bondade e o juízo; a ti, SENHOR, tocarei melodia.
לְדָוִ֗ד מִ֫זְמ֥וֹר חֶֽסֶד־וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט אָשִׁ֑ירָה לְךָ֖ יְהוָ֣ה אֲזַמֵּֽרָה׃
ledavid mizmor chesed-umishpat ashirah lecha Yahweh azamerah
2No caminho correto eu meditarei; [mas] quando virás a mim? Em sinceridade de meu coração andarei dentro de minha casa.
אַשְׂכִּ֤ילָה ׀ בְּדֶ֬רֶךְ תָּמִ֗ים מָ֭תַי תָּב֣וֹא אֵלָ֑י אֶתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ בְּתָם־לְ֝בָבִ֗י בְּקֶ֣רֶב בֵּיתִֽי׃
askilah bederech tamim matay tavo elay ethalech betam-levavi bekerev beti
3Não porei perante meus olhos obra maligna; odeio as ações dos que desviam, [tais coisas] não me tomarão.
לֹֽא־אָשִׁ֨ית ׀ לְנֶ֥גֶד עֵינַ֗י דְּֽבַר־בְּלִ֫יָּ֥עַל עֲשֹֽׂה־סֵטִ֥ים שָׂנֵ֑אתִי לֹ֖א יִדְבַּ֣ק בִּֽי׃
lo-ashit leneged enay devar-beliyaal asoh-setim saneti lo yidbak bi
4O coração perverso se afastará de mim; não conhecerei ao mau.
לֵבָ֣ב עִ֭קֵּשׁ יָס֣וּר מִמֶּ֑נִּי רָ֝֗ע לֹ֣א אֵדָֽע׃
levav ikesh yasur mimeni ra lo eda
5Destruirei ao que fala mal de seu próximo as escondidas, e não tolerarei ao que tem olhos cobiçosos e coração arrogante.
מלושני בַסֵּ֨תֶר ׀ רֵעֵהוּ֮ אוֹת֪וֹ אַ֫צְמִ֥ית גְּֽבַהּ־עֵ֭ינַיִם וּרְחַ֣ב לֵבָ֑ב אֹ֝ת֗וֹ לֹ֣א אוּכָֽל׃
mlvshny vaseter reehu oto atsmit gevah-enayim urchav levav oto lo uchal
6Meus olhos [estarão] sobre os fiéis da terra, para que se sentem comigo; aquele que anda no caminho correto, esse me servirá.
עֵינַ֤י ׀ בְּנֶֽאֶמְנֵי־אֶרֶץ֮ לָשֶׁ֪בֶת עִמָּ֫דִ֥י הֹ֭לֵךְ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ תָּמִ֑ים ה֝֗וּא יְשָׁרְתֵֽנִי׃
enay beneemne-erets lashevet imadi holech bederech tamim hu yesharteni
7Aquele que usa de engano não habitará em minha casa; aquele que fala mentiras não conseguirá ficar firme perante meus olhos.
לֹֽא־יֵשֵׁ֨ב ׀ בְּקֶ֥רֶב בֵּיתִי֮ עֹשֵׂ֪ה רְמִ֫יָּ֥ה דֹּבֵ֥ר שְׁקָרִ֑ים לֹֽא־יִ֝כּ֗וֹן לְנֶ֣גֶד עֵינָֽי׃
lo-yeshev bekerev beti oseh remiyah dover shekarim lo-yikon leneged enay
8Pelas madrugadas destruirei a todos os perversos da terra, para tirar da cidade do SENHOR todos os que praticam maldade.
לַבְּקָרִ֗ים אַצְמִ֥ית כָּל־רִשְׁעֵי־אָ֑רֶץ לְהַכְרִ֥ית מֵֽעִיר־יְ֝הוָ֗ה כָּל־פֹּ֥עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן׃
