Proverbs 17

Bíblia Livre (BLIVRE) + Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC)

Hide the originalView word by word

Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.

eved-maskil yimshol beven mevish uvtoch achim yachalok nachalah

matsref lakesef vechur lazahav uvochen libot Yahweh

mera makshiv al-sefat-aven sheker mezin al-leshon haot

loeg larash cheref osehu samecha leed lo yinakeh

ateret zekenim bene vanim vetiferet banim avotam

even-chen hashochad beene vealayv el-kal-asher yifneh yaskil

9Quem perdoa a transgressão busca a amizade; mas quem repete o assunto afasta amigos íntimos.

mechaseh-pesha mevakesh ahavah veshoneh vedavar mafrid aluf

techat gearah vemevin mehakot kesil meah

11Na verdade quem é mal busca somente a rebeldia; mas o mensageiro cruel será enviado contra ele.

pagosh dov shakul beish veal-kesil beiualto

meshiv raah tachat tovah lo-tmysh raah mibeto

poter mayim reshit madon velifne hitgala hariv netosh

matsdik rasha umarshia tsadik toavat Yahweh gam-shenehem

lamah-zeh mechir beyad-kesil liknot chachmah velev-ayin

adam chasar-lev tokea kaf orev arubah lifne reehu

19Quem ama a briga, ama a transgressão; quem constrói alta sua porta busca ruína.

ohev pesha ohev matsah magbiha pitcho mevakesh-shaver

lev samecha yetiv gehah verucha necheah teyabesh-garem

shochad mechek rasha yikach lehatot archot mishpat

et-pene mevin chachmah veene chesil biktseh-arets

kaas leaviv ben kesil umemer leyoladto

gam anosh latsadik lo-tov lehakot nedivim al-yosher

chosech amarayv yodea daat vkr -rucha ish tevunah

gam evil macharish chacham yechashev otem sefatayv navon
