Leviticus 12
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1E falou o SENHOR a Moisés, dizendo:
וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃
vaydaber Yahweh el-mosheh lemor
2Fala aos filhos de Israel, dizendo: A mulher quando conceber e der à luz macho, será impura sete dias; conforme os dias que está separada por sua menstruação, será impura.
דַּבֵּ֞ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר אִשָּׁה֙ כִּ֣י תַזְרִ֔יעַ וְיָלְדָ֖ה זָכָ֑ר וְטָֽמְאָה֙ שִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֔ים כִּימֵ֛י נִדַּ֥ת דְּוֺתָ֖הּ תִּטְמָֽא׃
daber el-bene yisrael lemor ishah ki tazria veyaldah zachar vetamah shivat yamim kime nidat deotah titma
3E ao oitavo dia circuncidará a carne de seu prepúcio.
וּבַיּ֖וֹם הַשְּׁמִינִ֑י יִמּ֖וֹל בְּשַׂ֥ר עָרְלָתֽוֹ׃
uvayom hashmini yimol besar arlato
4Mas ela permanecerá trinta e três dias no sangue de sua purificação: nenhuma coisa santa tocará, nem virá ao santuário, até que sejam cumpridos os dias de sua purificação.
וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים יוֹם֙ וּשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֔ים תֵּשֵׁ֖ב בִּדְמֵ֣י טָהֳרָ֑ה בְּכָל־קֹ֣דֶשׁ לֹֽא־תִגָּ֗ע וְאֶל־הַמִּקְדָּשׁ֙ לֹ֣א תָבֹ֔א עַד־מְלֹ֖את יְמֵ֥י טָהֳרָֽהּ׃
ushloshim yom ushloshet yamim teshev bidme tahorah bechal-kodesh lo-tiga veel-hamikdash lo tavo ad-melot yeme tahorah
5E se der à luz fêmea será impura duas semanas, conforme sua separação, e sessenta e seis dias estará purificando-se de seu sangue.
וְאִם־נְקֵבָ֣ה תֵלֵ֔ד וְטָמְאָ֥ה שְׁבֻעַ֖יִם כְּנִדָּתָ֑הּ וְשִׁשִּׁ֥ים יוֹם֙ וְשֵׁ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֔ים תֵּשֵׁ֖ב עַל־דְּמֵ֥י טָהֳרָֽה׃
veim-nekevah teled vetamah shevuayim kenidatah veshishim yom vesheshet yamim teshev al-deme tahorah
6E quando os dias de sua purificação forem cumpridos, por filho ou por filha, trará um cordeiro de ano para holocausto, e um pombinho ou uma rolinha para expiação, à porta do tabernáculo do testemunho, ao sacerdote:
וּבִמְלֹ֣את ׀ יְמֵ֣י טָהֳרָ֗הּ לְבֵן֮ א֣וֹ לְבַת֒ תָּבִ֞יא כֶּ֤בֶשׂ בֶּן־שְׁנָתוֹ֙ לְעֹלָ֔ה וּבֶן־יוֹנָ֥ה אוֹ־תֹ֖ר לְחַטָּ֑את אֶל־פֶּ֥תַח אֹֽהֶל־מוֹעֵ֖ד אֶל־הַכֹּהֵֽן׃
uvimlot yeme tahorah leven o levat tavi keves ben-shenato leolah uven-yonah o-tor lechatat el-petach ohel-moed el-hakohen
7E ele oferecerá diante do SENHOR, e fará expiação por ela, e será limpa do fluxo de seu sangue. Esta é a lei da que der à luz macho ou fêmea.
וְהִקְרִיב֞וֹ לִפְנֵ֤י יְהוָה֙ וְכִפֶּ֣ר עָלֶ֔יהָ וְטָהֲרָ֖ה מִמְּקֹ֣ר דָּמֶ֑יהָ זֹ֤את תּוֹרַת֙ הַיֹּלֶ֔דֶת לַזָּכָ֖ר א֥וֹ לַנְּקֵבָֽה׃
vehikrivo lifne Yahweh vechiper aleha vetaharah mimkor dameha zot torat hayoledet lazachar o lankevah
8E se não alcançar sua mão o suficiente para um cordeiro, tomará então duas rolinhas ou dois pombinhos, um para holocausto, e outro para expiação: e o sacerdote fará expiação por ela, e será limpa.
וְאִם־לֹ֨א תִמְצָ֣א יָדָהּ֮ דֵּ֣י שֶׂה֒ וְלָקְחָ֣ה שְׁתֵּֽי־תֹרִ֗ים א֤וֹ שְׁנֵי֙ בְּנֵ֣י יוֹנָ֔ה אֶחָ֥ד לְעֹלָ֖ה וְאֶחָ֣ד לְחַטָּ֑את וְכִפֶּ֥ר עָלֶ֛יהָ הַכֹּהֵ֖ן וְטָהֵֽרָה׃ פ
