Job 42

Bíblia Livre (BLIVRE) + Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC)

Hide the originalView word by word

Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.

1E Jó respondeu ao SENHOR, dizendo:

vayaan iov et-Yahweh vayomar

4Escuta-me, por favor, e eu falarei; eu te perguntarei, e tu me ensina.

6Por isso [me] abomino, e me arrependo no pó e na cinza.
