Job 17

Bíblia Livre (BLIVRE) + Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC)

Hide the originalView word by word

Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.

ruchi chubalah yamay nizachu kevarim li

im-lo hatulim imadi uvhamrotam talan eni

3Concede-me, por favor, uma garantia para comigo; quem [outro] há que me dê a mão?

lechelek yagid reim veene vanayv tichlenah

vehitsigani limshol amim vetofet lefanim ehyeh

vatechah mikaas eni vitsuray katsel kulam

yashomu yesharim al-zot venaki al-chanef yitorar

veyochez tsadik darko utohar-yadayim yosif omets

yamay avru zimotay nitku morashe levavi

laylah leyom yasimu or karov mipne-choshech

13Se eu esperar, o Xeol será minha casa; nas trevas estenderei minha cama.

im-akaueh sheol beti bachoshech ripadti yetsuay

14À cova chamo: Tu és meu pai; e aos vermes: [Sois] minha mãe e minha irmã.

lashachat karati avi atah imi vaachoti larimah

15Onde, pois, estaria agora minha esperança? Quanto à minha esperança, quem a poderá ver?

veayeh efo tikvati vetikvati mi yeshurenah

16Será que ela descerá aos ferrolhos do Xeol? Descansaremos juntos no pó da terra?

bade sheol teradnah im-yachad al-afar nachat
