Job 13
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Eis que meus olhos têm visto tudo [isto] ; meus ouvidos o ouviram, e entenderam.
hen-kol raatah eni shamah azni vataven lah
kedatchem yadati gam-ani lo-nofel anochi mikem
veulam atem tofle-shaker rofe elil kulchem
mi-yiten hacharesh tacharishun uthi lachem lechachmah
shimu-na tochachti verivot sefatay hakshivu
7Por acaso falareis perversidade por Deus, e por ele falareis engano?
halel tedabru avlah velo tedabru remiyah
8Fareis acepção de sua pessoa? Brigareis em defesa de Deus?
hafanayv tisaun im-lael terivun
hatov ki-yachkor etchem im-kehatel beenosh tehatelu vo
hochecha yochicha etchem im-baseter panim tisaun
halo seeto tevaet etchem ufachdo yipol alechem
zichronechem mishle-efer legabe-chomer gabechem
hacharishu mimeni vaadabrah-ani veyaavor alay mah

15Eis que, ainda que ele me mate, nele esperarei; porém defenderei meus caminhos diante dele.
hen yiktleni l ayachel ach-derachay el-panayv ochicha
gam-hu-li lishuah ki-lo lefanayv chanef yavo
17Ouvi com atenção minhas palavras, e com vossos ouvidos minha declaração.
shimu shamoa milati veachavati beaznechem
hineh-na arachti mishpat yadati ki-ani etsdak
19Quem é o que brigará comigo? Pois então eu me calaria e morreria.
mi-hu yariv imadi ki-atah acharish veegva
kapcha mealay harchak veematcha al-tevaatani
22Chama, e eu responderei; ou eu falarei, e tu me responde.
ukra veanochi eeneh o-adaber vahashiveni
23Quantas culpas e pecados eu tenho? Faze-me saber minha transgressão e meu pecado.
kamah li aonot vechataot pishi vechatati hodieni
24Por que escondes teu rosto, e me consideras teu inimigo?
lamah-fanecha tastir vetachshveni leoyev lach
25Por acaso quebrarás a folha arrebatada [pelo vento] ? E perseguirás a palha seca?
healeh nidaf taarots veet-kash yavesh tirdof
