Job 11
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Então Zofar, o naamita, respondeu, dizendo:
vayaan tsofar hanaamati vayomar
harov devarim lo yeaneh veim-ish sefatayim yitsdak
3Por acaso tuas palavras tolas faria as pessoas se calarem? E zombarias tu, e ninguém te envergonharia?
badecha metim yacharishv vatilag veen machlim
4Pois disseste: Minha doutrina é pura, e eu sou limpo diante de teus olhos.
vatomer zach likchi uvar hayiti veenecha
veulam mi-yiten eloha daber veyiftach sefatayv imach
veyaged-lecha taalumot chachmah ki-chiflayim letushiyah veda ki-yasheh lecha eloha meaonecha
7Podes tu compreender os mistérios de Deus? Chegarás tu à perfeição do Todo-Poderoso?

gavhe shamayim mah-tifal amukah mishol mah-teda
arukah meerets midah urchavah mini-yam
im-yachalof veyasgir veyakhil umi yeshivenu
ki-hu yada mete-shav vayar-aven velo yitbonan

veish navuv yilavev veayir pere adam yiualed
13Se tu preparares o teu coração, e estenderes a ele tuas mãos;
im-atah hachinota libecha ufarasta elayv kapecha
14Se alguma maldade houver em tua mão, lança-a de ti, e não deixes a injustiça habitar em tuas tendas;
im-aven beyadcha harchikehu veal-tashken beohalecha avlah
15Então levantarás teu rosto sem mácula; estarás firme, e não temerás;
ki-az tisa fanecha mimum vehayita mutsak velo tira
16E esquecerás teu sofrimento, [ou] lembrarás dele como de águas que já passaram;
ki-atah amal tishkach kemayim avru tizkor
umitsahorayim yakum chaled taufah kaboker tihyeh
18E serás confiante, porque haverá esperança; olharás em redor, [e] repousarás seguro.
uvatachta ki-yesh tikvah vechafarta lavetach tishkav
19E te deitarás, e ninguém te causará medo; e muitos suplicarão a ti.
