Jeremiah 47
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Palavra do SENHOR que veio ao profeta Jeremias sobre os filisteus, antes que Faraó ferisse a Gaza.
אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיָ֧ה דְבַר־יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ הַנָּבִ֖יא אֶל־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים בְּטֶ֛רֶם יַכֶּ֥ה פַרְעֹ֖ה אֶת־עַזָּֽה׃ ס
asher hayah devar-Yahweh el-yirmyahu hanavi el-pelishtim beterem yakeh faroh et-azah
2Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que águas sobem do norte, e se tornarão em correnteza transbordante, e inundarão a terra e sua plenitude, as cidades, e moradores delas; os homens gritarão, e todos os moradores da terra uivarão,
כֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה הִנֵּה־מַ֜יִם עֹלִ֤ים מִצָּפוֹן֙ וְהָיוּ֙ לְנַ֣חַל שׁוֹטֵ֔ף וְיִשְׁטְפוּ֙ אֶ֣רֶץ וּמְלוֹאָ֔הּ עִ֖יר וְיֹ֣שְׁבֵי בָ֑הּ וְזָֽעֲקוּ֙ הָֽאָדָ֔ם וְהֵילִ֕ל כֹּ֖ל יוֹשֵׁ֥ב הָאָֽרֶץ׃
koh amar Yahweh hineh-mayim olim mitsafon vehayu lenachal shotef veyishtfu erets umloah ir veyoshve vah vezaaku haadam vehelil kol yoshev haarets
3Ao ruído dos cascos de seus fortes [cavalos] ,o tremor de suas caruagens, e o estrondo de suas rodas; os pais não olharão para os filhos por causa da fraqueza das mãos.
מִקּ֗וֹל שַֽׁעֲטַת֙ פַּרְס֣וֹת אַבִּירָ֔יו מֵרַ֣עַשׁ לְרִכְבּ֔וֹ הֲמ֖וֹן גַּלְגִּלָּ֑יו לֹֽא־הִפְנ֤וּ אָבוֹת֙ אֶל־בָּנִ֔ים מֵֽרִפְי֖וֹן יָדָֽיִם׃
mikol shaatat parsot abirayv meraash lerichbo hamon galgilayv lo-hifnu avot el-banim merifyon yadayim
4Por causa do dia que vem, para arruinar a todos os filisteus, para cortar a Tiro e a Sidom todo ajudador que restar; pois o SENHOR destruirá aos filisteus, ao resto da ilha de Caftor.
עַל־הַיּ֗וֹם הַבָּא֙ לִשְׁד֣וֹד אֶת־כָּל־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים לְהַכְרִ֤ית לְצֹר֙ וּלְצִיד֔וֹן כֹּ֖ל שָׂרִ֣יד עֹזֵ֑ר כִּֽי־שֹׁדֵ֤ד יְהוָה֙ אֶת־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים שְׁאֵרִ֖ית אִ֥י כַפְתּֽוֹר׃
al-hayom haba lishdod et-kal-pelishtim lehachrit letsor ultsidon kol sarid ozer ki-shoded Yahweh et-pelishtim sheerit i chaftor
5Veio calvície sobre Gaza; Ascalom e o resto de seu vale foram cortados fora. Até quando te ferirás com arranhões?
בָּ֤אָה קָרְחָה֙ אֶל־עַזָּ֔ה נִדְמְתָ֥ה אַשְׁקְל֖וֹן שְׁאֵרִ֣ית עִמְקָ֑ם עַד־מָתַ֖י תִּתְגּוֹדָֽדִי׃ ס
baah karchah el-azah nidmtah ashklon sheerit imkam ad-matay titgodadi
6Ah, espada do SENHOR! Até quando não te aquietarás? Volta-te em tua bainha, descansa, e aquieta-te.
ה֗וֹי חֶ֚רֶב לַֽיהוָ֔ה עַד־אָ֖נָה לֹ֣א תִשְׁקֹ֑טִי הֵאָֽסְפִי֙ אַל־תַּעְרֵ֔ךְ הֵרָגְעִ֖י וָדֹֽמִּי׃
hoy cherev layhvah ad-anah lo tishkoti heasfi al-tarech heragi vadomi
7Como te aquietarias? Pois o SENHOR lhe deu mandado contra Ascalom, e contra o litoral, [e] ali ele a ordenou.
אֵ֣יךְ תִּשְׁקֹ֔טִי וַֽיהוָ֖ה צִוָּה־לָ֑הּ אֶֽל־אַשְׁקְל֛וֹן וְאֶל־ח֥וֹף הַיָּ֖ם שָׁ֥ם יְעָדָֽהּ׃ ס
