Isaiah 51

Bíblia Livre (BLIVRE) + Westminster Leningrad Codex (WLC)

Hide the originalView word by word

Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.

9Desperta-te! Desperta-te! Reveste-te de força, ó braço do SENHOR! Desperta-te como nos dias do passado, [como] nas gerações antigas; por acaso não és tu aquele que cortaste em pedaços a Raabe, que feriste ao dragão marinho?

11Assim voltarão os regatados do SENHOR, e virão a Sião cantando; e alegria perpétua haverá sobre suas cabeças; júbilo e alegria terão; tristeza e gemido fugirão.
