Isaiah 16
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Enviai os cordeiros ao dominador da terra desde Sela pelo deserto, ao monte da filha de Sião.
שִׁלְחוּ־כַ֥ר מֹשֵֽׁל־אֶ֖רֶץ מִסֶּ֣לַע מִדְבָּ֑רָה אֶל־הַ֖ר בַּת־צִיּֽוֹן׃
shilchu-char moshel-erets misela midbarah el-har bat-tsion
2Pois será que, como o pássaro vagueante, lançado do ninho, assim serão as filhas de Moabe junto aos vaus de Arnom.
וְהָיָ֥ה כְעוֹף־נוֹדֵ֖ד קֵ֣ן מְשֻׁלָּ֑ח תִּֽהְיֶ֙ינָה֙ בְּנ֣וֹת מוֹאָ֔ב מַעְבָּרֹ֖ת לְאַרְנֽוֹן׃
vehayah cheof-noded ken meshulach tihyenah benot moav mabarot learnon
3Toma conselho, faze juízo, põe tua sombra no pino do meio dia como a noite; esconde aos exilados, [e] não exponhas os fugitivos.
הביאו עֵצָה֙ עֲשׂ֣וּ פְלִילָ֔ה שִׁ֧יתִי כַלַּ֛יִל צִלֵּ֖ךְ בְּת֣וֹךְ צָהֳרָ֑יִם סַתְּרִי֙ נִדָּחִ֔ים נֹדֵ֖ד אַל־תְּגַלִּֽי׃
hvyv etsah asu felilah shiti chalayil tsilech betoch tsahorayim satri nidachim noded al-tegali
4Habitem entre ti teus prisioneiros, Moabe; sê tu refúgio para eles da presença do destruidor, porque o opressor terá fim, a destruição terminará, e os esmagadores serão consumidos de sobre a terra.
יָג֤וּרוּ בָךְ֙ נִדָּחַ֔י מוֹאָ֛ב הֱוִי־סֵ֥תֶר לָ֖מוֹ מִפְּנֵ֣י שׁוֹדֵ֑ד כִּֽי־אָפֵ֤ס הַמֵּץ֙ כָּ֣לָה שֹׁ֔ד תַּ֥מּוּ רֹמֵ֖ס מִן־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
yaguru vach nidachay moav hevi-seter lamo mipne shoded ki-afes hamets kalah shod tamu romes min-haarets
5Porque o trono se firmará em bondade, e sobre ele no tabernáculo de Davi em verdade se sentará um que julgue, e busque o juízo, e se apresse para a justiça.
וְהוּכַ֤ן בַּחֶ֙סֶד֙ כִּסֵּ֔א וְיָשַׁ֥ב עָלָ֛יו בֶּאֱמֶ֖ת בְּאֹ֣הֶל דָּוִ֑ד שֹׁפֵ֛ט וְדֹרֵ֥שׁ מִשְׁפָּ֖ט וּמְהִ֥ר צֶֽדֶק׃
vehuchan bachesed kise veyashav alayv beemet beohel david shofet vedoresh mishpat umhir tsedek
6Já ouvimos a soberba de Moabe, o arrogante ao extremo; sua arrogância, soberba e furor, [mas] seus orgulhos não são [firmes] .
שָׁמַ֥עְנוּ גְאוֹן־מוֹאָ֖ב גֵּ֣א מְאֹ֑ד גַּאֲוָת֧וֹ וּגְאוֹנ֛וֹ וְעֶבְרָת֖וֹ לֹא־כֵ֥ן בַּדָּֽיו׃ ס
shamanu geon-moav ge meod gaavato ugono veevrato lo-chen badayv
7Por isso Moabe gritará de lamento por Moabe; todos eles gritarão de lamento; gemereis pelos fundamentos de Quir-Haresete, pois estão quebrados.
לָכֵ֗ן יְיֵלִ֥יל מוֹאָ֛ב לְמוֹאָ֖ב כֻּלֹּ֣ה יְיֵלִ֑יל לַאֲשִׁישֵׁ֧י קִיר־חֲרֶ֛שֶׂת תֶּהְגּ֖וּ אַךְ־נְכָאִֽים׃
lachen yeyelil moav lemoav kuloh yeyelil laashishe kir-chareset tehgu ach-nechaim
8Pois os campos de Hesbom enfraqueceram, [e também] a vinha de Sibma, os senhores das nações esmagaram suas melhores plantas, que chegavam a Jezer, [e] alcançavam o deserto; seus ramos se estendiam, e passavam até o mar.
כִּ֣י שַׁדְמוֹת֩ חֶשְׁבּ֨וֹן אֻמְלָ֜ל גֶּ֣פֶן שִׂבְמָ֗ה בַּעֲלֵ֤י גוֹיִם֙ הָלְמ֣וּ שְׂרוּקֶּ֔יהָ עַד־יַעְזֵ֥ר נָגָ֖עוּ תָּ֣עוּ מִדְבָּ֑ר שְׁלֻ֣חוֹתֶ֔יהָ נִטְּשׁ֖וּ עָ֥בְרוּ יָֽם׃
ki shadmot cheshbon umlal gefen sivmah baale goyim halmu serukeha ad-yazer nagau tau midbar sheluchoteha nitshu avru yam
9Por isso lamentarei com pranto por Jezer, a vide de Sibma; eu te regarei com minhas lágrimas, ó Hesbom e Eleale; pois a alegria de teus frutos de verão e de tua colheita caiu.
עַל־כֵּ֡ן אֶבְכֶּ֞ה בִּבְכִ֤י יַעְזֵר֙ גֶּ֣פֶן שִׂבְמָ֔ה אֲרַיָּ֙וֶךְ֙ דִּמְעָתִ֔י חֶשְׁבּ֖וֹן וְאֶלְעָלֵ֑ה כִּ֧י עַל־קֵיצֵ֛ךְ וְעַל־קְצִירֵ֖ךְ הֵידָ֥ד נָפָֽל׃
al-ken evkeh bivchi yazer gefen sivmah arayavech dimati cheshbon veelaleh ki al-ketsech veal-ketsirech hedad nafal
10E foram tirados a alegria e o prazer do campo frutífero; e nas vinhas não se canta, nem grito de alegria se faz; o pisador não pisará as uvas nas prensas; eu pus fim aos clamores de alegria.
וְנֶאֱסַ֨ף שִׂמְחָ֤ה וָגִיל֙ מִן־הַכַּרְמֶ֔ל וּבַכְּרָמִ֥ים לֹֽא־יְרֻנָּ֖ן לֹ֣א יְרֹעָ֑ע יַ֗יִן בַּיְקָבִ֛ים לֹֽא־יִדְרֹ֥ךְ הַדֹּרֵ֖ךְ הֵידָ֥ד הִשְׁבַּֽתִּי׃
veneesaf simchah vagil min-hakarmel uvakramim lo-yerunan lo yeroa yayin baykavim lo-yidroch hadorech hedad hishbati
11Por isso meus órgãos fazem ruído por Moabe como um harpa; e meu interior por Quir- Heres.
עַל־כֵּן֙ מֵעַ֣י לְמוֹאָ֔ב כַּכִּנּ֖וֹר יֶֽהֱמ֑וּ וְקִרְבִּ֖י לְקִ֥יר חָֽרֶשׂ׃
al-ken meay lemoav kakinor yehemu vekirbi lekir chares
12E será que, quando [o povo de] Moabe se apresentar e se cansar nos lugares altos, e entrarem em seus templo para orar, nada conseguirão.
וְהָיָ֧ה כִֽי־נִרְאָ֛ה כִּֽי־נִלְאָ֥ה מוֹאָ֖ב עַל־הַבָּמָ֑ה וּבָ֧א אֶל־מִקְדָּשׁ֛וֹ לְהִתְפַּלֵּ֖ל וְלֹ֥א יוּכָֽל׃
vehayah chi-nirah ki-nilah moav al-habamah uva el-mikdasho lehitpalel velo yuchal
13Esta é a palavra que o SENHOR falou sobre Moabe desde então.
זֶ֣ה הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־מוֹאָ֖ב מֵאָֽז׃
zeh hadavar asher diber Yahweh el-moav meaz
14Mas agora [assim] fala o SENHOR, dizendo: Dentro de três anos, (tais como anos de empregado), então se tornará desprezível a glória de Moabe, com toda a sua grande multidão; e os restantes serão muito poucos e sem poder.
וְעַתָּ֗ה דִּבֶּ֣ר יְהוָה֮ לֵאמֹר֒ בְּשָׁלֹ֤שׁ שָׁנִים֙ כִּשְׁנֵ֣י שָׂכִ֔יר וְנִקְלָה֙ כְּב֣וֹד מוֹאָ֔ב בְּכֹ֖ל הֶהָמ֣וֹן הָרָ֑ב וּשְׁאָ֥ר מְעַ֛ט מִזְעָ֖ר ל֥וֹא כַבִּֽיר׃ ס
