Hosea 3
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1E disse-me o SENHOR: Vai, ama a mulher amada por [seu] companheiro, apesar de ser adúltera, assim como SENHOR ama os filhos de Israel, que dão atenção a outros deuses, e amam os bolos de uvas [dedicados aos ídolos] .
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י ע֚וֹד לֵ֣ךְ אֱֽהַב־אִשָּׁ֔ה אֲהֻ֥בַת רֵ֖עַ וּמְנָאָ֑פֶת כְּאַהֲבַ֤ת יְהוָה֙ אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְהֵ֗ם פֹּנִים֙ אֶל־אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וְאֹהֲבֵ֖י אֲשִׁישֵׁ֥י עֲנָבִֽים׃
vayomer Yahweh elay od lech ehav-ishah ahuvat rea umnaafet keahavat Yahweh et-bene yisrael vehem ponim el-elohim acherim veohave ashishe anavim
2Então eu a comprei para mim por quinze peças de prata, e um ômer e meio de cevada;
וָאֶכְּרֶ֣הָ לִּ֔י בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר כָּ֑סֶף וְחֹ֥מֶר שְׂעֹרִ֖ים וְלֵ֥תֶךְ שְׂעֹרִֽים׃
vaekreha li bachamishah asar kasef vechomer seorim veletech seorim
3E disse a ela: Tu viverás comigo por muitos dias; não te prostituirás, nem serás de outro homem; nem e eu [esperarei] por ti.
וָאֹמַ֣ר אֵלֶ֗יהָ יָמִ֤ים רַבִּים֙ תֵּ֣שְׁבִי לִ֔י לֹ֣א תִזְנִ֔י וְלֹ֥א תִֽהְיִ֖י לְאִ֑ישׁ וְגַם־אֲנִ֖י אֵלָֽיִךְ׃
vaomar eleha yamim rabim teshvi li lo tizni velo tihyi leish vegam-ani elayich
4Porque os filhos de Israel viverão muitos dias sem rei e sem príncipe; sem sacrifício e sem estátua; sem éfode e sem ídolo.
כִּ֣י ׀ יָמִ֣ים רַבִּ֗ים יֵֽשְׁבוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֵ֥ין מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ וְאֵ֣ין שָׂ֔ר וְאֵ֥ין זֶ֖בַח וְאֵ֣ין מַצֵּבָ֑ה וְאֵ֥ין אֵפ֖וֹד וּתְרָפִֽים׃
ki yamim rabim yeshvu bene yisrael en melech veen sar veen zevach veen matsevah veen efod utrafim
5Depois os filhos de Israel voltarão e buscarão ao SENHOR seu Deus, e a Davi seu rei; e temendo virão ao SENHOR e à sua bondade no fim dos dias.
אַחַ֗ר יָשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּבִקְשׁוּ֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם וְאֵ֖ת דָּוִ֣ד מַלְכָּ֑ם וּפָחֲד֧וּ אֶל־יְהוָ֛ה וְאֶל־טוּב֖וֹ בְּאַחֲרִ֥ית הַיָּמִֽים׃ פ
achar yashuvu bene yisrael uvikshu et-Yahweh elohehem veet david malkam ufachadu el-Yahweh veel-tuvo beacharit hayamim
