Esther 7
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
vayavo hamelech vehaman lishtot im-ester hamalkah
vayomer hamelech leester gam bayom hasheni bemishteh hayayin mah-sheelatech ester hamalkah vetinaten lach umah-bakashatech ad-chatsi hamalchut veteas
3Então a rainha Ester respondeu e disse: Ó rei, se tenho achado favor em teus olhos, e se for do agrado do rei, seja me dada minha vida por minha petição, e meu povo por meu pedido.

vayomer hamelech achashverosh vayomer leester hamalkah mi hu zeh vee-zeh hu asher-melao libo laasot ken
