1E o rei Assuero impôs um tributo sobre a terra e [sobre] as ilhas do mar.
וַיָּשֶׂם֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ אחשרש ׀ מַ֛ס עַל־הָאָ֖רֶץ וְאִיֵּ֥י הַיָּֽם׃
vayasem hamelech chshrsh mas al-haarets veiye hayam
2E todas as obras de seu poder e de seu valor, e a declaração da grandeza de Mardoqueu, a quem o rei engrandeceu, por acaso não estão escritas no livro das crônicas dos reis da Média e da Pérsia?
וְכָל־מַעֲשֵׂ֤ה תָקְפּוֹ֙ וּגְב֣וּרָת֔וֹ וּפָרָשַׁת֙ גְּדֻלַּ֣ת מָרְדֳּכַ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר גִּדְּל֖וֹ הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ הֲלוֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֙פֶר֙ דִּבְרֵ֣י הַיָּמִ֔ים לְמַלְכֵ֖י מָדַ֥י וּפָרָֽס׃
vechal-maaseh takpo ugvurato ufarashat gedulat mardochay asher gidlo hamelech halo-hem ketuvim al-sefer divre hayamim lemalche maday ufaras
3Pois o judeu Mardoqueu foi o segundo depois do rei Assuero, e grande entre os judeus, e agradável à multidão de seus irmãos, procurando o bem de seu povo, e falando prosperidade para todo o seu povo.
