Ecclesiastes 6
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
yesh raah asher raiti tachat hashamesh verabah hi al-haadam

ki-vahevel ba uvachoshech yelech uvachoshech shemo yechuseh
gam-shemesh lo-raah velo yada nachat lazeh mizeh

tov mareh enayim mehalach-nafesh gam-zeh hevel urut rucha
mah-shehayah kevar nikra shemo venoda asher-hu adam velo-yuchal ladin im shhtkyf mimenu
