Ecclesiastes 11
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
shalach lachmcha al-pene hamayim ki-verov hayamim timtsaenu
ten-chelek leshivah vegam lishmonah ki lo teda mah-yihyeh raah al-haarets
im-yimalu heavim geshem al-haarets yariku veim-yipol ets badarom veim batsafon mekom sheyipol haets sham yehu
shomer rucha lo yizra veroeh veavim lo yiktsor

semach bachur beyaldutecha vitivcha libcha bime vechurotecha vehalech bedarche libcha uvmare enecha veda ki al-kal-eleh yeviacha haelohim bamishpat
