Deuteronomy 24
Below each verse in the original comes an approximate reading, in italics, for anyone who wants to pronounce the text aloud. It is not academic transliteration: it does not mark stress or settle the cases that depend on grammatical analysis, and the four-letter Name is read “Yahweh”, by the founder’s decision — the Hebrew pointing instructs saying “Adonai”, and Portuguese Bibles render it “SENHOR”.
1Quando algum tomar mulher e se casar com ela, se não lhe agradar por haver achado nela alguma coisa ofensiva, lhe escreverá carta de divórcio, e a entregará em sua mão, e a despedirá de sua casa.

4Não poderá seu primeiro marido, que a despediu, trazê-la de volta a tomar para que seja sua mulher, depois que foi contaminada; porque é abominação diante do SENHOR, e não hás de perverter a terra que o SENHOR teu Deus te dá por herança.
