1E os filisteus, depois de tomarem a arca de Deus, trouxeram-na desde Ebenézer a Asdode.

וּפְלִשְׁתִּים֙ לָֽקְח֔וּ אֵ֖ת אֲר֣וֹן הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיְבִאֻ֛הוּ מֵאֶ֥בֶן הָעֵ֖זֶר אַשְׁדּֽוֹדָה׃

2E tomaram os filisteus a arca de Deus, e meteram-na na casa de Dagom, e puseram-na junto a Dagom.

וַיִּקְח֤וּ פְלִשְׁתִּים֙ אֶת־אֲר֣וֹן הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים וַיָּבִ֥יאוּ אֹת֖וֹ בֵּ֣ית דָּג֑וֹן וַיַּצִּ֥יגוּ אֹת֖וֹ אֵ֥צֶל דָּגֽוֹן׃

vayikchu felishtim et-aron haelohim vayaviu oto bet dagon vayatsigu oto etsel dagon

3E o seguinte dia os de Asdode se levantaram de manhã, e eis Dagom prostrado em terra diante da arca do SENHOR: e tomaram a Dagom, e voltaram-no a seu lugar.

וַיַּשְׁכִּ֤מוּ אַשְׁדּוֹדִים֙ מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת וְהִנֵּ֣ה דָג֗וֹן נֹפֵ֤ל לְפָנָיו֙ אַ֔רְצָה לִפְנֵ֖י אֲר֣וֹן יְהוָ֑ה וַיִּקְחוּ֙ אֶת־דָּג֔וֹן וַיָּשִׁ֥בוּ אֹת֖וֹ לִמְקוֹמֽוֹ׃

vayashkimu ashdodim mimachorat vehineh dagon nofel lefanayv artsah lifne aron Yahweh vayikchu et-dagon vayashivu oto limkomo

4E voltando-se a levantar de manhã o dia seguinte, eis que Dagom havia caído prostrado em terra diante da arca do SENHOR; e a cabeça de Dagom, e as duas palmas de suas mãos estavam cortadas sobre o umbral, havendo restado a Dagom o tronco somente.

וַיַּשְׁכִּ֣מוּ בַבֹּקֶר֮ מִֽמָּחֳרָת֒ וְהִנֵּ֣ה דָג֗וֹן נֹפֵ֤ל לְפָנָיו֙ אַ֔רְצָה לִפְנֵ֖י אֲר֣וֹן יְהוָ֑ה וְרֹ֨אשׁ דָּג֜וֹן וּשְׁתֵּ֣י ׀ כַּפּ֣וֹת יָדָ֗יו כְּרֻתוֹת֙ אֶל־הַמִּפְתָּ֔ן רַ֥ק דָּג֖וֹן נִשְׁאַ֥ר עָלָֽיו׃

vayashkimu vaboker mimachorat vehineh dagon nofel lefanayv artsah lifne aron Yahweh verosh dagon ushte kapot yadayv kerutot el-hamiftan rak dagon nishar alayv

5Por esta causa os sacerdotes de Dagom, e todos os que no templo de Dagom entram, não pisam o umbral de Dagom em Asdode, até hoje.

עַל־כֵּ֡ן לֹֽא־יִדְרְכוּ֩ כֹהֲנֵ֨י דָג֜וֹן וְכָֽל־הַבָּאִ֧ים בֵּית־דָּג֛וֹן עַל־מִפְתַּ֥ן דָּג֖וֹן בְּאַשְׁדּ֑וֹד עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ ס

al-ken lo-yidrchu chohane dagon vechal-habaim bet-dagon al-miftan dagon beashdod ad hayom hazeh

6Porém agravou-se a mão do SENHOR sobre os de Asdode, e assolou-os, e feriu-os com chagas em Asdode e em todos seus termos.

וַתִּכְבַּ֧ד יַד־יְהוָ֛ה אֶל־הָאַשְׁדּוֹדִ֖ים וַיְשִׁמֵּ֑ם וַיַּ֤ךְ אֹתָם֙ בעפלים אֶת־אַשְׁדּ֖וֹד וְאֶת־גְּבוּלֶֽיהָ׃

vatichbad yad-Yahweh el-haashdodim vayshimem vayach otam vflym et-ashdod veet-gevuleha

7E vendo isto os de Asdode, disseram: Não fique conosco a arca do Deus de Israel, porque sua mão é dura sobre nós, e sobre nosso deus Dagom.

וַיִּרְא֥וּ אַנְשֵֽׁי־אַשְׁדּ֖וֹד כִּֽי־כֵ֑ן וְאָמְר֗וּ לֹֽא־יֵשֵׁ֞ב אֲר֨וֹן אֱלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ עִמָּ֔נוּ כִּֽי־קָשְׁתָ֤ה יָדוֹ֙ עָלֵ֔ינוּ וְעַ֖ל דָּג֥וֹן אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

vayiru anshe-ashdod ki-chen veamru lo-yeshev aron elohe yisrael imanu ki-kashtah yado alenu veal dagon elohenu

8Mandaram, pois, juntar a si todos os príncipes dos filisteus, e disseram: Que faremos da arca do Deus de Israel? E eles responderam: Passe-se a arca do Deus de Israel a Gate. E passaram ali a arca do Deus de Israel.

וַיִּשְׁלְח֡וּ וַיַּאַסְפוּ֩ אֶת־כָּל־סַרְנֵ֨י פְלִשְׁתִּ֜ים אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ מַֽה־נַּעֲשֶׂ֗ה לַֽאֲרוֹן֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ גַּ֣ת יִסֹּ֔ב אֲר֖וֹן אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיַּסֵּ֕בּוּ אֶת־אֲר֖וֹן אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ ס

vayishlchu vayaasfu et-kal-sarne felishtim alehem vayomru mah-naaseh laaron elohe yisrael vayomru gat yisov aron elohe yisrael vayasebu et-aron elohe yisrael

9E aconteceu que quando a houveram passado, a mão do SENHOR foi contra a cidade com grande tormento; e feriu os homens daquela cidade desde o pequeno até o grande, que se encheram de chagas.

וַיְהִ֞י אַחֲרֵ֣י ׀ הֵסַ֣בּוּ אֹת֗וֹ וַתְּהִ֨י יַד־יְהוָ֤ה ׀ בָּעִיר֙ מְהוּמָה֙ גְּדוֹלָ֣ה מְאֹ֔ד וַיַּךְ֙ אֶת־אַנְשֵׁ֣י הָעִ֔יר מִקָּטֹ֖ן וְעַד־גָּד֑וֹל וַיִּשָּׂתְר֥וּ לָהֶ֖ם עפלים׃

vayhi achare hesabu oto vathi yad-Yahweh bair mehumah gedolah meod vayach et-anshe hair mikaton vead-gadol vayisatru lahem flym

10Então enviaram a arca de Deus a Ecrom. E quando a arca de Deus veio a Ecrom, os ecronitas deram vozes dizendo: Passaram a mim a arca do Deus de Israel para matar a mim e a meu povo.

וַֽיְשַׁלְּח֛וּ אֶת־אֲר֥וֹן הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים עֶקְר֑וֹן וַיְהִ֗י כְּב֨וֹא אֲר֤וֹן הָאֱלֹהִים֙ עֶקְר֔וֹן וַיִּזְעֲק֨וּ הָֽעֶקְרֹנִ֜ים לֵאמֹ֗ר הֵסַ֤בּוּ אֵלַי֙ אֶת־אֲרוֹן֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לַהֲמִיתֵ֖נִי וְאֶת־עַמִּֽי׃

vayshalchu et-aron haelohim ekron vayhi kevo aron haelohim ekron vayizaku haekronim lemor hesabu elay et-aron elohe yisrael lahamiteni veet-ami

11E enviaram a juntar todos os príncipes dos filisteus, dizendo: Despachai a arca do Deus de Israel, e torne-se a seu lugar, e não mate a mim nem a meu povo: porque havia tormento de morte em toda a cidade, e a mão de Deus se havia ali agravado.

וַיִּשְׁלְח֨וּ וַיַּאַסְפ֜וּ אֶת־כָּל־סַרְנֵ֣י פְלִשְׁתִּ֗ים וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ שַׁלְּח֞וּ אֶת־אֲר֨וֹן אֱלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְיָשֹׁ֣ב לִמְקֹמ֔וֹ וְלֹֽא־יָמִ֥ית אֹתִ֖י וְאֶת־עַמִּ֑י כִּֽי־הָיְתָ֤ה מְהֽוּמַת־מָ֙וֶת֙ בְּכָל־הָעִ֔יר כָּבְדָ֥ה מְאֹ֛ד יַ֥ד הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים שָֽׁם׃

vayishlchu vayaasfu et-kal-sarne felishtim vayomru shalchu et-aron elohe yisrael veyashov limkomo velo-yamit oti veet-ami ki-haytah mehumat-mavet bechal-hair kavdah meod yad haelohim sham

12E os que não morriam, eram feridos de chagas; e o clamor da cidade subia ao céu.

וְהָֽאֲנָשִׁים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־מֵ֔תוּ הֻכּ֖וּ בעפלים וַתַּ֛עַל שַֽׁוְעַ֥ת הָעִ֖יר הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

vehaanashim asher lo-metu huku vflym vataal shavat hair hashamayim
